Handcrafted Rock Made Fresh With Love
Musician and Recording Artist
I was born in Elkhart, Indiana. I moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2014 to pursue being a full-time musician. I started playing the guitar when I was 15 and fell in love with songwriting around the age of 18. I have always been inspired by and loved Classic Rock and Blues guitar. My first concert was Aerosmith and from that moment in November of 1998 I knew that playing the guitar was what I wanted to do with my life and I have been on the pursuit ever since. My first guitar was a silver Aria Pro that my brother in law bought for me and I was so proud of it that I left the tags on the headstock for the entire first year I owned the guitar. My Dad taught me how to form open chords and gave me a good foundation for playing. I checked out every book about the guitar and music theory that I could from the Elkhart Public Library. Teaching myself from the books, a lot of what I read was confusing and over my head at the time, but I continued to learn and practiced night and day. To my parents dismay, I ended up dropping out of high school in 2001 so that I could devote more time to practicing guitar around the clock. In 2003, armed with a hand me down amp, a cassette recorder and a stereo for playback, I began to craft my own expression of rock. I spent all of my time making tapes and honing the songs that would later become my first CD release. In 2005, I bought a Zoom Palmtop Studio which I used to record my first CD "The Realization of Life" and also used it for my second CD "Innovation Never Phelt So Good". Just before the end of 2005 I was able to achieve a dream of hearing my music on the radio when 103.9 The Bear played a song of mine during their Homegrown Hour. With stars in my eyes, I set out to cross off another bucket list item and I performed on an episode of OpenStudio which aired on PBS in January of 2006. I wanted to take my understanding and comprehension of music to the next level so I attended college at the University of Indiana South Bend later that year and that's where my passion for recording really took flight. They taught me about computer based recording programs and opened my eyes to the digital recording world. I spent the next few years learning all I could about home recording and created my own home studio where I record the instruments and vocals for my songs. In September of 2014, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky where I finished recording the songs that make up my third album. I released "Tha Jams' Rock" through CDBaby.com on January 27th, 2015. Later in 2015, I took to the stage for my first live shows in Louisville at Third Street Dive and then at Lettersong Calligraphy and Art Gallery. In September of 2015 my album "Tha Jams' Rock" was added to WCHQ 100.9 fm and garnered spins on the radio in Louisville. On July 23rd, 2016 I played at the HomeGrown Heroes Festival in Louisville, Kentucky that was held at The New Vintage. This was a dream come true as it was the first time I had my name on a concert ticket. On July 28th, 2017 I performed at Tim Faulkner Art Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky as part of "The Radiomen Return to Louisville" concert. Throughout all of 2017 and most of 2018 I was writing, recording and mastering my newest album "Synchronized Noise" which I feel without a doubt is the best I have ever created. The lyrics in these songs chronicle the last few years of my musical journey and mindset as I transitioned from practicing in my bedroom to becoming a stage ready performer. The music I wrote for these tracks have elements that incorporate Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Punk and a pinch of Metal. I really enjoy most all musical styles and want to create songs that are diverse and I feel that my new album "Synchronized Noise" does a great job of expressing my musical creativity. I've partnered with AWAL for distribution and am very excited to get to work promoting my music. With an eye to the future I look forward to more live performances and recording material for my fifth release that is slated for 2019.
